The Pizero Design company is the creation of Michele Cerreta, a self-made designer that, under the name of "Pizero", has delivered the impressive number of over 10 millions of free symbian themes in all the countries of the world. Michele started the Pizero.net website in may 2007 to share his creations with the world: the project quickly obtained a great success, counting over 3000 unique visitors each day a few months after opening. Pizero's creations were (and still are) considered an improvement over manufacturers default themes, looking great without loosing clarity and readability. After releasing his award-winning "New Gold" theme, that set the "gold standard" of custom themes for Symbian (All About Symbian, 2008), featuring a design that is still being copied by others 3 years later, "Pizero" was featured on the most important specialized online press and magazines. In late 2008, Pizero Design started its activity to deliver professional and high quality themes to his clients for personal, commercial and marketing uses. In 2009 Pizero Design was invited, upon the first developers, to join the Ovi Store marketplace as a Premium Publisher. In 2010, Pizero Design releases its first iPhone App, called Elite Walls PRO, and continues providing free and premium themes, as well as freelance works.

Our themes and images are designed using the latest version of the best professional tools available on the market. We use a large number of tools to complete our projects, the most used being Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS5, Adobe Fireworks CS5. The themes are then compiled using "Carbide.ui 3.0" from the Symbian Foundation, and when they are complete, we test them on at least 3 different real mobile phones, on the SDK Emulators provided by Nokia, and remotely using the Nokia RDA services, including unreleased prototypes (when available). The images included in our themes can be either designed in studio or shot using our Canon Eos 450D Digital SLR camera.

Pizero Design is a relatively young company started in late 2008, but we already have a large number of clients and projects completed. Most of our clients prefer not to disclose their identity, as they are, in great part, very popular companies. In 2009 and 2010 we completed several projects for mobile phones manufacturers, mobile operators, but also for companies that, even if not directly linked with the IT and mobile phones industry, are looking for innovative marketing solutions aimed to raise the popularity of their products. Just to make an example, we designed two official themes for the italian fashion brand Rinascimento. Beside its freelance projects, Pizero Design is also running private projects: most of our themes are available for free on our blog (we have done nearly 200 free themes), but a small number of them, being the most refined and detailed, are sold as "Premium Themes" in the Nokia Ovi Store, where we are accredited as Premium Publishers. Our free theme "Earth by Pizero" is now very close to pass the 2 million downloads mark, being our most downloaded theme of all time, and without doubt, the most popular theme in the Ovi Store since its opening.
